Are you ready for some NFL free agency fun? It’s about to go crazy here in a little over a week as teams, players and their agents will be putting out all sorts of news to spark interest. NFL player free agents can begin to sign with teams officially on March 17th at 4 p.m.
The Cleveland Browns, with large money cap space, are again in prime position to pick up several free agents. The Browns front office and general manager Andrew Berry did a great job last year at this time, getting the likes of OL Jack Conklin and TE Austin Hooper to shore up their powerful offense.
While the Browns will be big players in the free agency frenzy, they will likely be losing some players too who are unrestricted free agents. DE Olivier Vernon, CB Kevin Johnson, CB Terrance Mitchell, S Karl Joseph, LB BJ. Goodson, LB Malcolm Smith and DL Larry Ogunjobi will all be seeking lucrative deals elsewhere.
So here are some free agents that I believe the Browns front office will be talking to and trying to bring to Cleveland:
Matt Milano, LB, Buffalo Bills
This young LB from Buffalo could potentially replace the parting of BJ Goodson or Malcolm Smith. Milano, a Boston College alum, is young at 26 years old and has had a steady career in Buffalo. He was injured a bit last year but in 2018 and 2019 he recorded 75 plus tackles each season. He’s coming off his rookie contract and is an attractive piece potentially for the Browns to consider.
