Why The Browns Need To Hire Former Saints Coach Sean Payton As Next Head Coach

As this season is slowly decimating for the Cleveland Browns, fans are concerned about what the future holds for the head coach position. Some say head coach Kevin Stefanski is losing the locker room as many grumbles start to occur after each loss. The Browns will probably not move on from Stefanski and are probably going to give him a full year with QB Deshaun Watson, but I think the Browns should move in another direction and go after former Saints head coach Sean Payton.

Sean Payton has the receipts to make a team successful. He had a total record of 152-89 with the New Orleans Saints and a Super Bowl as well. The Saints were always a good team that competed well and was always in the Super Bowl mix while having Payton. With this current Browns roster, plus Deshaun Watson, the Cleveland Browns are a dangerous, Super Bowl-contending team with Sean Payton.

Sean Payton has the experience and the receipts of his success in the NFL. With him having a QB like Drew Brees, the team was even more successful. Sean Payton would make Deshaun Watson successful in Cleveland and become a threat to the AFC and the league as a whole. The Browns should offer a contract to Payton now before the season ends so he can prep for the 2023 season. It would be similar to how the Browns traded for Watson while Baker was on the team. It would be insane if Andrew Berry did the exact same thing but with head coaches this time.

Now, this scenario might be impossible and will most likely not happen. But, just think about how awesome it would be for Sean Payton to return as a head coach and come to Cleveland. The Browns are a ‘ready to win now’ team and Sean Payton would definitely give the team the best success opportunity.
