Who Will Become the Most Popular Player on Championship-Winning Fantasy Teams?

ESPN came out with a list of Most Common Players in ESPN Fantasy Finals. Robby and I thought it would be fun to boldly predict the player we believe will take home the trophy of Most Common on Championship-Winning Teams. My choice: Kareem Hunt.

Krispy Kareem finds himself at #14 on ESPN’s Finals list. I believe when it is all said and done, he will be the #1 most common player on championship-winning teams in ESPN leagues. Now, that’s a bold call on a rising star if there ever was one. Hunt will have this final week — that means ONE performance to rise above the likes of Ezekiel Elliott, Alvin Kamara, Todd Gurley, Leonard Fournette, Antonio Brown, the Jaguars Defense, among other stout performers. But I believe the time is ripe for those (like myself) who have ridden Kareem Hunt with all his imperfections to Finals glory. He will avenge all those weeks we contemplated trading him for nickels on the dollar or rage-dropping him (OK, that probably didn’t cross many minds, but you know what I mean).

If you are a Kareem Hunt owner, you watched him go nine scoreless weeks in a row in your RB1 slot and five straight weeks failing to reach the century mark after seven straight weeks topping 100 all-purpose yards prior to that. Alas! It has all come back around. The last two weeks Hunt has flashed his ridiculous ability to absolutely rack up the fantasy points for his owners. In Week 14, he ran the ball 25 times for 116 yards and a score while adding 22 receiving yards against the Raiders. Then in Week 15, he took 24 carries for a whopping 155 yards and a touchdown on the ground, adding 51 receiving yards and another touchdown in his matchup with the Chargers.

HE’S BACK people and just in time to win you and I our championship title! The Chiefs have their third straight home game and guess what? They go up against the Miami Dolphins whom ESPN has ranked 30th against the running back position in fantasy football. Everything perfectly lines up for Kareem Hunt to climb the ladder to glory and take hold of the #1 Most Common Player on Fantasy Championship-Winning Teams.

Robby, who do you say will be seated on this Fantasy Throne?

The player that I believe will be on the most championship fantasy teams is none other than, soon to be offensive rookie of the year, Alvin Kamara. Kamara received no more than 12 carries in any game this season. That’s right, the guy that has lead everyone to their championship game and will lead them to the fantasy title has as many carries this season as Mike Gillislee, Chris Ivory, and Matt Forte. Minus the Week 14 game in which Kamara was injured in the first quarter, Kamara has scored in every week since Week 8. Kamara and Company (sorry Drew Brees) get a Falcons’ defense that gives up a league-high 91 catches to running backs. Kamara is 3rd on the year for catches out of the backfield behind only Le’Veon Bell and Christian McCaffrey. He should be able to exploit this matchup and lead fantasy teams to glory!
