While watching last week’s game between the Cleveland Browns and the Atlanta Falcons this question of, “Who is that guy?” may have entered your head. Most people were focused on QB Baker Mayfield, RB Nick Chubb and LB Joe Schobert but you noticed some other guys who made important plays in the game and you had no idea who they were. Perhaps if you were watching the game with other people you may have asked them this question. In case you were alone or your fellow viewers were as unaware as you were, here is a quick bit of information on some of those players.

Let’s start with DE Anthony Zettel. Zettel was signed by the Browns after he was cut by the Detroit Lions before the season began. In this game, he played 25 defensive snaps and made some great plays including a tackle for loss when the Falcons were close to the goal line. He ended the game with three tackles and made many fans excited and not willing to “Zettel” for less in the future from him.

Next is LB Tanner Vallejo. Vallejo was another player acquired by the Browns at the beginning of this season after he got cut by the Buffalo Bills. He has played mostly on special teams this season; however, this week he played 41 defensive snaps. Vallejo was all over the field and he made six tackles. With LB Christian Kirksey sidelined for the rest of the season expect to see Vallejo on the field as long as he keeps making plays.

The final player to talk about is DE Chris Smith. Smith was brought in from the Cincinnati Bengals during the free agency period to add depth to a pretty good defensive line. Earlier in the season, he started a couple games in place of DE Emmanuel Ogbah who was out with an injury. Against the Falcons, Smith recorded his first sack of the season and added three tackles as well as a forced fumble while playing in only 22 defensive snaps.

Next Sunday, when the Browns go to Cincinnati to play the Bengals you will now be prepared to answer the question, “Who is that guy?” which will inevitably be asked.
