What We Learned: Cavs vs Bucks

(Stats and box score)

The Bucks handed the Cavs their 3rd straight loss. The Cavs were forced to play without LeBron, Love, and Marion. Here are a couple things we can take from this one.

You can’t put much stock in this one. Every team goes through injuries and it’s not’s necessarily an excuse, but no team can afford to be without 3 or 4 starters no matter how good they are. The Cavs are no exception. Just look at the starting lineup they ran out there on Wednesday: Kyrie, Delly, Miller, Thompson, and Haywood. That’s an awful lineup that isn’t going to beat many teams. If the Cavs would’ve lost this game with Love and LeBron than there would be much more cause for concern.

Kyrie Irving needs a little bit of help. This game looked similar to a game from any of the last 3 seasons. Kyrie was forced to play hero ball the entire game and try to will them to victory. You have to at least respect how hard Kyrie was playing out there. He didn’t give up just because LeBron and Love weren’t playing. That’s why you have to love Kyrie. You see how much he hates losing.

An NBA team can score 7 points in a quarter. I didn’t think it was possible, but the Cavs proved me wrong again. They were held to only 7 points in the 3rd quarter. I still don’t have any explanation to how they did it, well I guess if you look at their roster… but still. Its hard to only score 7 points in a quarter in 2k let alone real life. But that’s the kind of things that happen when you shoot 34% from the field as a team.

The Cavs need LeBron. As much as some of us don’t want to say it right now, we need him and we need him bad. LeBron makes everyone better when he’s out on the court and we all know that. The Cavs aren’t a good team without him. If you believe that they are you’re just kidding yourself. Were you paying attention to the Cavs the last 4 years? I was and it was bad. Hopefully he’ll be back against the Hornets on Friday. Is it sad I even needed to write that?

We learned that the Cavs best basketball is in front of them. The Cavs will find a way to turn it around once Love and LeBron return to the lineup. 2015 should be a fun year and I can’t wait to see what the Cavs do.
