What if Kevin Love Went to Golden State?

Cleveland Cavaliers

The the young core of Kyrie, Dion Waiters and Andrew Wiggins means the Cavs have plenty of wing depth, but are still lacking that rim-protector and swing a trade for Timofey Mozgov. With 76ers in full tank mode, the Cavs also bring in Thad Young to provide some low post offense off the bench. With LeBron leading the way, the Cavs still finish second in the east (hey, Atlanta was really good that year), but rip through the east in the playoffs, where they meet the Houston Rockets in the finals. Dion Waiters and Andrew Wiggins show their youth, but LeBron and Kyrie come to play and finish off the Rockets in six games, securing Cleveland’s first championship in 51 years.

The next year proves to be even better. The Cavs rip off 65 wins with Wiggins becoming the defensive stopper and Kyrie becoming the insta-offense. LeBron is still LeBron and once again the Cavs make it to the NBA Finals where an extremely confident Thunder team is waiting for them. In a thrilling seven-game series, the Thunder become the first team in NBA history to rally from a 3-1 deficit. Durant is finally vindicated for winning a championship in OKC; it turns out him and Westbrook can play together.

The 2017 season plays out a lot like the previous one. LeBron takes more of a back seat and rests for 15 games during the season, while Kyrie, Dion and Wiggins run the show. A third straight trip to the finals and LeBron’s old nemesis, the Spurs, await. With LeBron and Kawhi canceling each other out, it’s Kyrie and Wiggins who step up and take over the series, one in which the Cavs win in six games. Kyrie is awarded NBA Finals MVP. Cleveland celebrates its third title in as many years, as the Indians also win the 2016 World Series and everything is right in the world.
