What I Would’ve Said If I Was LeBron James

Yes, my previous article was roasting LeBron James in a lot of different ways that include legacy, behavior, actions and more. What fans are currently talking about is his behavior of pretending to do golf swings during the National Anthem before his first game in New York. He was asked about it…

Watch his response:

If I were LeBron, this is what I would’ve said in regard to President Trump’s tweet about said behavior. Here’s the tweet:

Anyway, as I’ve learned, just like no one can be in my shoes, I can’t be in someone like LeBron’s. But this is what I would say:

Look, firstly, I’m sorry; it was a mistake. I wasn’t intentionally trying to offend anyone. I love this country that has given me so much. I will be much more cognizant of how I behave when the anthem is played. Hope I can be forgiven and let’s move on. This won’t happen again.

Yeah, many will react to that and call BS on his words, but a lot of people/comapanies are forced to make statements either verbal or written about something that happened. As such a leader and a role model as James is, that’s how I would’ve responded. A simple few lines that would change so many people’s perception of him, especially if he actually does behave during the future games when the National Anthem is on and not try to garner attention or make a statement.

To be clear, my feelings about LeBron are pretty set and that reply I just made up isn’t about to change mine and everyone’s on the planet, specifically in this country. However, if it helps his brand and respect, why not say something like that instead of the garbage “slow news day” talk.

After LeBron gave the Cavs their first championship ever, I thought I would love him for life. As I mentioned in a previous article (link below), that is no longer the case despite his promise made back 10 years ago. It’s disappointing that this is even a talking point and more so because he’s on a different team than the Cavs I will always love forever.

James still has the opportunity to make up for his recent negligent behavior and finish off a legendary career in a nice way and live as the hero he should be, like, say, a Michael Jordan does currently… It’s all up to him and it’s not like he doesn’t have the money/tools and such to be a better person as the next chapter begins next year.

Lastly, I know some Cavs fans will say, “Who cares??? He’s not in Cleveland anymore!” And that’s fair to say. However, we all know, just like Michael Jordan, LeBron will be in the basketball realm forever.
