Welcome To Cleveland, Kendrick Perkins
Ok, let’s be honest here. When center Kendrick Perkins was on the Boston Celtics there was not a Cavs fan that liked the guy. Thankfully, after a run with the Oklahoma City Thunder as well, Perkins will be joining the Cavaliers after clearing waivers on Monday. He was traded to the Utah Jazz (by the Thunder), and then was subsequently bought out by the team.
This year, he’s averaging 4.0 ppg and 5.5 rpg.
On the Cavs, he will serve a limited role as a backup big man. It was be interesting to see how Cavs coach David Blatt incorporates him into a rotation that has been working really well of late. Perkins will be needed for his defense more than anything else.
The Cavaliers have added another tough-minded veteran to the mix. A true force on the defensive end. He’s just another piece that solidifies us as a true contender in to win that coveted title come June.
Go Cavs!
