Weekly Tribe Roundup April 9-15
The Indians kicked off the week with a gem from the reigning Cy Young Winner Corey Kluber. Carrasco and Bauer followed Kluber’s gem with great games themselves sweeping their rival, the Tigers. The Tribe’s offense woke up scoring 14 runs in two games. The Indians had a tough end to the week dropping a tough game to the Blue Jays and mother nature whipped out the last two games of the homestand.

The Indians completed their first sweep of the season by sweeping the division-rival Tigers. Their offense woke up in the Tigers series after struggling the first couple weeks with scoring runs. The pitching staff was outstanding the first three games allowing just four total runs. The last two games were postponed due to bad weather. The Tribe finished 3-1 on the week pushing their overall record to 8-6.
Top Performers of the Week
Corey Kluber pitched eight innings striking out 13 to notch his first win of the year.
Francisco Lindor went 2/4 with a HR, double, three RBI’s and scored three runs in the Indians’ 9-3 win over the Tigers.

Indians will hit the road for the next six games with two in Puerto Rico against the Twins and four games in Baltimore. This will be a homecoming for Francisco Lindor, Roberto Perez and First Base Coach, Sandy Alomar, Jr. As expected this year the Twins will likely be the threat to the Indians for the AL Central Division title, so even though it’s early, 1st place will be up for grabs.
