Another exciting week of Tribe baseball is in the books, meaning it’s time for another CST Weekly Tribe Roundup. The Indians began the week playing in sunny California before returning to Cleveland for their home opener and the coldest game in Progressive Field history. It wasn’t the best start to the week as the Indians lost two of three in Anaheim but were able to rebound this past weekend and secure their first series victory of the season over the Royals and improve to 4-5 on the season.

The Indians were able to go .500 this week thanks to some great performances from their players, mainly on the mound. The offense wasn’t always there but lights out pitching helped the Tribe finish 3-3 on the week.

Top Performers of the Week

Mike Clevinger: two starts, 12 2/3 innings, one earned run, four walks and nine strikeouts

Trevor Bauer: one start, eight innings, one earned run, two walks and seven strikeouts

Yan Gomes: one hit, one home run, two RBI and one game winner

With the good of course comes the bad. As stated previously, the Indians’ hitting hasn’t quite been up to par so far this season and these guys, in particular, have really struggled to find their swing so far this year.

Bradley Zimmer: three hits, two walks and 10 strikeouts

Jason Kipnis: one hit, one RBI, three walks and four strikeouts

Roberto Perez: no hits, one walk and three strikeouts
