Week 7 is in the books and what a rough game it was for the Browns. Losing a very winnable game to the Tennessee Titans in overtime was bad enough. Losing our rock, Joe Thomas, made the game almost unbearable. As an added insult to injury, Myles Garrett is under concussion protocol and ruled out for the game in London.
While it is tempting to slip into despair over the current state of the Browns, I feel the need to push past all of the gloom and talk about our Week 7 Top Dawg. I say Top Dawg because there is just one player receiving the distinction for Week 7 play, kicker Zane Gonzalez.
All of the Browns’ points came courtesy of the rookie Gonzalez. Yes, ALL NINE of those points. I still want to give props to him for hitting a 54-yard field goal. Gonzalez was three for three on field goals for the day, all three were over 30 yards. He earned his pay and did not let the team down, unlike other players, namely Kenny Britt.
It is hard to get psyched up for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings in London. Maybe playing in a different venue surrounded by those charming British accents will help to turn our Browns around. A girl can dream, right?
