Week 7: A Banged Up Browns Team Takes On The Broncos

This Thursday, October 20, 2021, The Cleveland Browns are hosting the Denver Broncos at First Energy Stadium. For the Browns, the season is starting to be concerning as many players are getting injured left and right.
It has just been announced that QB Case Keenum will get the starting job for this week as QB Baker Mayfield is resting from a shoulder tear. This might not be a bad idea considering this will give Mayfield some rest time before the Pittsburgh game on Halloween. Other injuries for the Browns include RB Nick Chubb, RB Kareem Hunt, OT Jedrick Wills and LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.
This Browns team is banged up, but they are still itching for a win against the Broncos. The Browns still hold strong at a 3-3 record and are looking to go back above .500 after this game. Case Keenum is a reliable backup quarterback and will make some successful plays. The Broncos are a team that started out hot, winning their first three games but are now at a record of 3-3. Now the question is which team finally bounces back and gets the win.
If the Browns have a good game plan and execute, they have the potential to win this game. On another note, the defense will have to show up to play as well. If the defense plays a great game and does not give up tons of points, the Browns will be fine. I expect Keenum to put up some points on offense.
One more note regarding Keenum filling in for Mayfield. In 2017, HC Kevin Stefanski had a big impact on Keenum’s play with the Vikings. Keenum took the Vikings to the NCF Championship that year. For any Browns fans who feel concerned, remember this piece of info and try to stay positive. The future is still bright and let’s enjoy the ride Dawg Pound!
