In this new series here at CST, we will be individually previewing each projected starting player on the 2015 Cleveland Indians’ team, culminating with a full team season preview on opening day. Now pitching: Kyle Crockett.
23 year old relief pitcher Kyle Crockett is entering his second year of major league action for the Tribe. He’s hoping to capitalize on what was a really good first year. His 1.80 ERA in 30 innings pitched (43 appearances) made him one of Terry Francona’s go-to left handers last season.
In Goodyear, he pitched really well only allowing hitters to bat .130 against him. The former Virginia Cavalier only had a .123 ERA in the 7.1 innings he pitched.
This season, look for Crockett to continue his success in bigs even at such a young age. He features his four seam fastball at around 91 MPH. Also in his arsenal are a slider, change up and sinker.
He also has a baby face.
