Undoubtedly the best Cavs performance in playoff history, LeBron and the Cavs won Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals in Detroit, 109-107 in 2OT. The Cavs proceeded to win the next game and headed to their first ever NBA Finals. LeBron’s play in Game 5 was the reason the Cavs moved on. Had the Pistons won, no one could predict how the series would’ve turned out. LeBron scored 48 with 9 rebounds and 7 assists and dominated the top seeded Pistons on their home court. LeBron won this game almost single-handedly, as he led the team in points, rebounds, assists, and steals (2). It’s the team’s record for most points scored in a playoff game, and I wouldn’t look for it to be broken anytime soon.

One thing in common with all these: They all happened post-New Years in their respective seasons. The Cavs tend to pick up their play after the years change, and this year looks to be no different. Momentum is with us, and we’re looking unbeatable. None of these records will ever be diminished, but I think it’d be nice to see King James break his old records.
