The Newest Cavs Player Flashing Hardware…

The Cavs have new “ice” making its way across the locker room. Following Saturday Night’s win in Washington, Cavs head coach J.B. Bickerstaff introduced a new postgame award and tradition.
Bickerstaff revealed a custom-made chain called the Junk Yard Dog Chain when addressing the team! It was awarded to Isaac Okoro.
After placing the chain around Isaac’s neck, Coach Bickerstaff said this of Okoro: “He is the type of player who can honestly score zero points and be the most impactful player on the floor. It’s not sexy; people don’t write about it. But his impact on winning is second to none. And has been since he’s been here with us.”
Bickerstaff also told Cleveland.com that the Junk Yard Dog Award is “something that was created by our guys, so we tried to come up with something that would celebrate that and add to our culture. We wanted to celebrate their mentality.”
Furthermore, the award celebrates the Cavs overall mindset this season as a scrappy, hard-nosed, tough-minded, and determined group of guys.
After the Washington win, the Cavs are 36-24 in the win-loss column. Their fierce competitive attitude has them sitting at 4th in the Eastern Conference. Isaac Okoro embodies the heart and soul of what Cleveland Cavaliers basketball is all about.
