Yes, this is “Cleveland Sports Talk” but the recent foul that wasn’t called at the end of the Lakers and Celtics game was incredibly embarrassing for the league itself and has been all over social media throughout the day.

It sent the game to overtime tied at 105 and LeBron James went into a frenzy. Honestly, I can’t blame him for how prominent the missed call was by the ref(s).

LeBron clearly was whacked on the left forearm while driving to the hoop to lay the ball up and in by the Celtics’ Jayon Tatum. Now, there’s no guarantee he will make the foul shots, but James is a 77% foul shooter this year. Thus, the odds are in his favor to make at least one if not both.

I made this funny tweet that all Cleveland fans can relate to:

Ahh, the good times when LeBron was involved in a block that was actually clean. 2016 Champs!

Sure, was LeBron’s reaction to the no-call a bit much? Yeah, I guess. I mean I’d be upset at the fact that I wasn’t shooting two for an opportunity at sealing the deal in a big road game against the Lakers.

James continues to creep closer to the all-time scoring record held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. I just wrote about that…

The former Cavalier did drop 41 points on 15-30 shooting despite the loss to the Celtics, 125-121. James is now 117 total points away from that historic mark of 38,387 points scored.

A referee was literally standing right next to the play and didn’t call the foul.

Why am I so funny?

Now, the referees did admit to the mistake. Crew chief of the game Eric Lewis said: “There was contact. At the time, during the game, we did not see a foul. The crew missed the play.”

Is it good that they admit a missed call or is it simply, too little too late?

Luckily, it was only a regular season game and not a Game Seven of the Finals or anything of that nature. Could you imagine if the stakes were so high?

Hopefully, the refs continue to improve and don’t have any missed calls in games for our Cavaliers.
