The Cavs Post-LeBron Future Begins Friday

Cedi Osman and Ante Zizic

Everyone on social media yelling about how the Cavs will never compete for an NBA championship after LeBron left are completely wrong! The Cavs should already be the favorites to win another title! Well… technically, it’s a summer league championship. But, a ring is a ring, right?

The official summer league rosters haven’t been released yet, so I don’t have a complete idea of what the rest of the league’s rosters will look like, but the fact these two are playing will easily put the Cavs near the top talent-wise. Cedi appeared in 61 total games as a rookie, including 12 starts during the regular season. He will be one of the most experienced players out there. As for Zizic, he played in the summer league with the Celtics in 2017. He also played for both the Cavs and their G-League affiliate Canton Charge last year.

The summer league expectations should be high for however much these two play. Anybody talented enough to earn meaningful NBA minutes should stand out against the weaker competition here. The primary focus will most likely be on the other players though, since Zizic and Osman will see their roles increase now that LeBron’s gone.

Still, any minutes together will be beneficial for Sexton, Cedi and Zizic to start building their chemistry.
