The Browns had the first pick of the second round and essentially 18 hours to decide what to do with it. Many people thought it would be traded. The Browns stayed pat and took Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Oklahoma State. I really liked this pick. Ogbah was a first round talent who probably would have went to Kansas City at 27 had they not robbed the 49ers in a trade. At 6’4 273 pounds, Ogbah ran a 4.63 40 at the combine. Ogbah knows how to get to the quarterback. He had one sack or more in 16 of his last 21 games. He is not the fastest player off the edge but he is a strong kid who will transfer into the NFL well due to his ability to be flexible when it comes to the 3-4 defense and different types of defenses that Ray Horton will implement.
I like Ogbah but I think there were bigger and/or better needs to fill at this spot. I would have liked to see the Browns take a safety (Vonn Bell, TJ Green) at this spot. However, it filled a glaring need for the Browns and Ogbah was one of the top rated DE’s in this class.
