The Browns Are On The Clock

The 2022 NFL draft is finally here and while the Browns don’t own a first-round pick, there is still plenty of reasons to be excited. Dreams will be made today. Every team has the opportunity to improve their team with any glaring holes they currently have on their roster. While the Browns improved by acquiring the services of Deshaun Watson and Amari Cooper, championship-caliber teams are built through the draft.
Let’s get to business and talk about potential players that the Browns could draft. The Browns will select in the second round with the 44th overall pick. A player whose draft stock has risen is wide receiver Christian Watson from North Dakota State might still be on the board when the Browns are on the clock. Watson had a solid season as he finished the season with 40 receptions, 800 yards, and 7 touchdowns. Watson has blinding speed as he ran his best 40-yard dash in 4.36. He also has the height as he is listed at 6 foot five inches and is an under-the-radar type of player due to playing in the FCS. The Browns own the 78th overall pick, and they need to address the defense. San Diego State Defense end Cameron Thomas is a mammoth of a human being listed at 6’4 and 264 pounds. This past season Thomas collected 11.5 sacks and 71 tackles. Although Thomas does not have “explosive speed”, Myles Garrett will cause plenty of attention, which could allow Thomas more opportunities to get to the quarterback.
The Browns own the 99th overall pick and have a need for a defensive tackle. All teams love are size and athleticism. One name that comes to mind that could fit with this team is Ohio State defensive tackle Haskell Garrett. Garrett had 5.5 sacks last season and had 22 tackles. While those numbers don’t wow anyone, this man played in the Big Ten Conference. It is one of the best conferences in college football. Haskell’s hands are listed at 9.88 inches and will knock down plenty of footballs at the line of scrimmage. This would be a nice addition to a Browns team that was inconsistent.
The Browns will get better as I firmly believe that Andrew Berry is the right guy as the general manager. The Browns need to go out and play the way they are capable of. This team is searching to win a Superbowl that the fanbase desperately deserves. Stay glued to the television Browns fans! Time to build this team and create a winning atmosphere. Browns fans want to see a dynasty built. Andrew Berry has to deliver to stick around.
