Suns (33-30) @ Cavaliers (39-25)
Coming off an ugly game by LeBron James and company, the Cavaliers travel back home for one game before taking off on a four game road trip. After last night, the Cavaliers are now tied with the Toronto Raptors for the third seed in the Eastern Conference. The Cavaliers were in a three way tie with Chicago as well, but Chicago now owns a 1/2 game lead over the Raptors and Cavaliers. At the conclusion of tonight’s contest, Cleveland enters a stretch which includes many teams over .500, making this game tonight against the Suns a must win in terms of momentum.
Now entering a contest against a tough Phoenix team, the Cavaliers look to prove that a loss won’t derail the team’s hope. Although Phoenix is one of the easier teams in their next couple games in terms of record, Phoenix is one of the better teams in the NBA, and is currently jousting for the last playoff position in the ever competitive Western Conference. Phoenix has recently traded some of their talent, including two of their better point guards in Isaiah Thomas and Goran Dragic. Now led by Brandon Knight, the Suns look to test the Cavaliers with a fast paced game, Western Conference style. The Suns have been battle tested lately, coming into Saturday’s contest the Suns are 4-6 in their last 10.

Matchup to watch for:
Although the Cavaliers’ point guard usually has had the edge in every competitive field, Kyrie Irving and Brandon Knight have always proven to be an exciting matchup. Since the two’s legendary bout in the Rising Stars game, Knight has been the laughing stock in the NBA. May it be running into the bench and having water fall on him, or getting murdered by DeAndre Jordan, Knight has had his fair share of jives directed towards him since entering the NBA. Knight has been serious this year and has turned it around with a break out season with Milwaukee and Phoenix. The Irving and Knight matchup never has been a let down, may it be the Rising Stars game or just any regular season game, the two young guards always play their best ball. Although the two won’t play as much now that Brandon has been recently traded to the Suns, look for the two to make up for lost time.
