Strengths and Weaknesses of the top QB’s in the Class of 2018

Taking a look at the Strengths and Weaknesses of the Top QB’s coming out for the 2018 NFL Draft.

Baker Mayfield

Elite timing and accuracy in the Oklahoma offense including over 70% on his completions. Above average arm strength. Shows great touch on his short and intermediate passes. Possess good mobility and throws well on the run. A leader on the field, Mayfield galvanized his players around him and has had great success at OU. The most successful college QB in the class, winning big games this year, despite losing talents such as Dede Westbrook and Joe Mixon to the NFL. Efficient in the red zone, knows how to buy time in the pocket and find the open man. The quickest release of all the QBs available.

Does not possess ideal height (6’0″). Although a leader on the field, he has been a distraction off the field, including an arrest video that went viral. Plays in a spread offense not conducive to the NFL style. While many have swat down the comparisons to Johnny Manziel as unfair, they are similar and one has to wonder if the distraction is worthy of a top-10 pick.
