Spotlight on the Browns’ New Coaches

Longtime Special Teams Coordinator Chris Tabor has gone on to the Chicago Bears and has been replaced by Coordinator Amos Jones, Assistant Sam Shade and Intern Josh Cribbs.

Amos Jones has been a coach since 1981 when he was a graduate assistant at Alabama. In his coaching career, he has coached high school, college and in the NFL. Most recently, he was the special teams coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals.

Assistant Sam Shade played cornerback in the NFL for the Cincinnati Bengals and Washington Redskins. After his playing career was done he was a volunteer high school coach and from 2009 – 2017 he coached in college. This is his first NFL coaching job.

Josh Cribbs is a familiar name to all Browns fans as he played for the Browns from 2005 – 2012. He was a three-time Pro Bowler and is tied with Leon Washington for the NFL’s All-Time Kickoff Return Touchdown Leader. Cribbs’ experience as a return specialist will help the team tremendousely.
