Shane Bieber’s Impressive Second Half Performance

Cleveland Guardians pitcher Shane Bieber is having a perfect start to the second half of the season for the Guardians. He hasn’t lost a start since July 24th. He’s posting a 3-0 record with a 1.35 ERA. Where’s all of this coming from? Is this for real or a fluke?
Well, we better hope it’s not a fluke. He’s looking exceptional out on the mound. Bieber has been through a lot dating back to last season. He was limited to just 16 starts in 2021 due to a shoulder injury. It’s nice to see him performing like this and getting back to form. His last start came against the offensive juggernaut Toronto Blue Jays. He held the Blue Jays to two runs on eight hits in seven innings. He struck out six batters and didn’t draw any walks. Most of the pitches he used were fastballs, reading a velocity of 94.6 miles per hour.
The Guardians are a much better team when their pitching starts clicking. Pitching wins titles. Tristan McKenzie has been impressive for the Guardians. Still, if Bieber can keep this up for the remainder of the season, I see the Guardians having a real shot at winning the AL Central Division, possibly one of the dangerous teams entering the postseason. Baseball is an unpredictable sport. Anyone that enters the postseason can go and win it all. It’s a matter of who gets hot at the right time and gets the right hits at the right time.
Bieber improves to 8-6 with a 3.16 ERA. His next start will probably be against the Chicago White Sox. We will be looking forward to how he will respond. The Guardians (62-54) have a two-game lead over the Minnesota Twins for first place in the AL Central. Who would’ve thought the Guardians would be in this position after everything that happened in the last two seasons? Terry Francona is one unbelievable manager who knows how to galvanize the troops.
