It was recently announced that Cavaliers point guard Matthew Dellavedova was to replace Boston’s Kelly Olynyk in the Rising Stars challenge, who is nursing an ankle injury. The Aussie is averaging 4.2 PPG., 2.9 APG. and 1.8 RPG off the bench this year for the Cavs.
“Obviously it’s a great honor,” Dellavedova said. “I didn’t think I would ever go to All-Star Weekend so it will be cool to check it out.” (via cleveland.com)
It’ll be interesting to see how Delly works with the young guns of the World Team such as Minnesota’s Andrew Wiggins and Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo. Hopefully he represents our city and his country well!
Dellavedova is the 23rd participant to represent the Cavaliers.
