The year 2022 has finally come to an end and we are at the beginning of 2023. There were many good moments and bad moments within the Cleveland Sports world of 2022. I am going to bring this article joy over sorrow as I will be listing my top-five Cleveland Sports Moments of 2022 starting with Number 5:

5. The Cavs Making it to the Play-In Tournament

The Cavaliers had a very scrappy team in the 2021-22 NBA season and they finished with a winning record and made it back into the playoffs for the first time since 2018. Granted, they unfortunately lost to the Atlanta Hawks after blowing the lead, but they at least improved after a losing season and made themselves an entertaining team to watch.

4. The Guardians Winning the AL Central

The Guardians were the youngest MLB team in the Majors of 2022 and after many predictions of this team not being good, they found a way to win. The Guards have some very young players in Steven Kwan, Oscar Gonzalez, followed by Veteran leader Jose Ramirez. This Guards team won their division fair and square and played some amazing baseball. After a tragic name change, this team found a way to bring it together and continue to make Cleveland Baseball an amazing tradition.

3. The Browns Trading for Deshaun Watson

After a rocky 2021 season with many fingers being pointed at former Browns QB Baker Mayfield, the Browns decided to pull the trigger and trade for franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson. Even though this 2022 season has been rough for us fans, the Browns have a promising future. With a full year of Deshaun Watson in 2023, the Browns have a chance at really competing and be granted another winning season for the first time since 2020.

2. Guardians Defeating Yankees in Game 3 of the ALDS

This moment is definitely a personal one for myself as this was the first Cleveland playoff game I have ever attended. The Guardians defeated the Yankees on a walk-off base hit to win the game, 6-5. The stadium erupted when this happened and it was best atmosphere I have ever experienced at a Cleveland Sporting event. Granted, we lost the overall series, but this game will always be remembered as the best game I have ever attended.

1. The Cavs Traded for Donovan Mitchell

The Cavs had a scrappy 2021-2022 NBA season and they got their missing piece in the offseason by going all-in on Donovan Mitchell. The Cavs have looked great so far this season and have a great chance at bringing a second championship home to Cleveland. This team for sure has a bright future.

These are my top moments for 2022! What are you top Cleveland Sports Moments of 2022???
