QB JOSH DOBBS IS STARTING…For The Titans

The Cleveland Browns go through quarterbacks faster than I go through women. Okay, sorry I just had to with this latest news that has just come about in the NFL. Quarterback Joshua Dobbs, now on the (7-8) Tennessee Titans, will be the starting quarterback for them this game against the (11-4) Dallas Cowboys.
Here’s the pathway:
On April 9, 2022, Dobbs signed a one-year, $1 million dollar deal with the Cleveland Browns. He was waived on November 28, 2022, after Deshaun Watson returned from suspension.
On December 5, 2022, Dobbs was signed to the Detroit Lions practice squad.
On December 21, 2022, Dobbs was signed by the Tennessee Titans off the Lions’ practice squad…
And now he is the STARTING QUARTERBACK FOR THEM.
Dobbs played in the preseason for the Browns and became a loveable character for the franchise as the team prepared for the 2022 season. He was excellent during the games as shown by these stats:
It’s nice to see Dobbs, age 27 now, get an opportunity with another team as the starting quarterback. This is actually the sixth team he’s played for in the NFL over the years.
What’s craziest about this is that Dobbs signed off the Lions’ practice squad eight days ago (Dec 21). Thus, he has minimal time to prepare and learn the offense and various schemes to succeed in Tennessee.
Now, Dobbs will replace quarterback Malik Wills as the starter versus Dallas as quarterback Ryan Tannehill continues to nurse a right ankle.
Personally, I always enjoyed watching Dobbs play in the preseason for the Browns this past season and I’m very happy he’s getting another opportunity as a starting quarterback for a different franchise.

Not sure if Dobbs counts necessarily because he didn’t start in a regular season game, but the Browns have gone through a million different quarterbacks since 1999 and it’s truly embarrassing. Hopefully, quarterback DeShaun Watson will fix that problem once he gets a full season under his belt in 2023. That remains to be seen…
How many quarterbacks can you name since the Browns came back? If you can name them all, you should certainly get some type of trophy. It feels like an endless list of failures.
Of course, we’ll never know how the team would’ve done with Dobbs as the starter for the entire season this year because of the Jacoby Brissett and DeShaun Watson signings.
Watch Dobbs throw for 300 yards and three touchdowns for Tennessee in a win just to stick it to Cleveland.
The game is tonight at 8:15 on Thursday Night Football.
