Prospect Profiles: DeVante Parker

In this installment of “Prospect Profiles,” we will look at another wide receiver. If you’re starting to notice a common theme with this, it’s because the Browns desperately need to upgrade the position.

Enter: DeVante Parker.

DeVante Parker is everything you could want in a wide receiver. Big, Physical, quick, no drops, can highpoint the ball, and to top it off, he is great after the catch. Parker is 6’3 and 210 pounds and he uses every inch of it when trying to make catches. An improving route runner, Parker has shown the ability to create separation and stretch a defense. However, Parker isn’t just a one-trick pony. Parker is able to catch the ball underneath and gain more ground. Parker is always looking to break a tackle and usually only runs out of bounds when there is no other option.

Parker projects as a true number one receiver, who can step in day one. If Parker runs a low 40 time at the combine, his stock will soar, but for the time being, he is a mid-first round pick. Parker plays just like Dez Bryant and Brandon Marshall. Big and physical guys who can make the spectacular catch and run with the ball after the catch.

If the Browns are able to select Parker at 12, they will have a franchise player for the next 10 years.
