Preview: Bauer takes the hill as Indians look to Split the Series

Trevor Bauer will take the hill for the Indians this afternoon as the Indians look to split the two-gamer in Kansas City. The Indians, who fell to the Royals last night by a score of 9-5 have outscored their opponents 33-21 in their last 5 games. So far on this road-trip the bats have been there, but the pitching has not. The Indians need Bauer to be efficient more than anything tomorrow, which unfortunately he has not been so far this year. Bauer is averaging just over 4.0 innings per start.

Bauer will be facing off with Yordano Ventura ( 3-5 3.77 ERA ) who will be looking to win his second in a row. Ventura went 6.0 IP while allowing 2 ER and striking out 1 as he collected the win against the St. Louis Cardinals on last Thursday.

Players to watch:

Lonnie Chisenhall: Chisenhall is 7 for his last 9 with 3 HR, 2 doubles, and 2 singles over that stretch. Lonnie continues to be the bright spot of this Indians lineup.

Carlos Carrasco: Carlos has only given up 1 ER in his last 7.2 IP out of the bullpen.

Eric Hosmer: Hosmer went 2-5 with a 2 run homer, and an RBI single for the Royals on Tuesday.
