Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State
A running back first overall you ask yourself? Yes, Barkley has that type of talent to be the Ezekiel Elliott of the offense (except without the off-field issues). Barkley is rumored to have 4.3 speed and combine that with his frame of 6’0, 230 pounds and you have your dream running back. Like all running backs, they are only successful when the offensive line is producing and when the Penn State offensive line was in a groove, there was no stopping Barkley. If his agility to make defenders miss and his ability to simply run through others wasn’t impressing you, keep in mind he was a great pass catcher and kick returner as well. Barkley is someone who can change your offense from day one. The last running back to go first overall? Ki-Jana Carter in 1995, from you guessed it, Penn State University.
