The stage was set… WIN AND YOU’RE IN! For the first time in eighteen years…
The team itself and the electricity in the confines of First Energy Stadium gave the Browns enough motivation to do what needed to be done. Browns QB Baker Mayfield led the charge on offense going 17/27 for 196 yards and one touchdown. Browns RB Nick Chubb added to the cause with 14 carries for 108 yards and one touchdown. The defense would also show up and sack Steelers QB Mason Rudolph once and intercept one of his passes.
With the Browns’ win and Dolphins’ loss, the Browns now move up to the 6th seed and a rematch with Pittsburgh next weekend. Regardless of the match-up, the fact that the Browns are in the playoffs should give the rest of the league notice that this in and will not be the same Browns team from 20 years ago. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski has this team right on track and has my vote for Coach of the Year!
The Browns are also 11-5 for the first time since 1994 when they won their first-round game and made it to the second round. I am expecting the Browns to do the same and make a great showing in this year’s playoffs.
For the moment, Browns fans all over the world can rejoice and celebrate because for the first time since 2002 –
WE IN THE PLAYOFFS BABY!!!
PLAYOFF PREDICTION: Browns fight their way to the second round. The future looks bright. GO BROWNS!!!
