On LeBron: The “Ring Chaser” – Cleveland Style?

Nobody thought it.

Honestly, probably not even the biggest LeBron James haters.

The idea of LeBron’s return to Cleveland, despite a clear and competitive team without him, is this idea of him returning to The Land to finish off this historic career in a storybook fashion. I had actually written a previous article about the thought that if he did choose a team to go to, such as the Golden State Warriors, even if he won a championship, it would be looked upon with no respect, as people would just call him a “ring chaser.

However, the Cleveland idea was never as such. Then, this news came out. To be clear, they aren’t our sources but are just seen on Twitter X through legit accounts.

Now, I’m not denying that both LeBron James and Kyrie Irving coming back to Cleveland would be fun to watch again like the old times we all remember so fondly, especially 2016. But this thought also came to my head after I heard this report…

Would the “storybook concept” be erased with a Cleveland return if this report is true? LeBron has literally spent the last three weeks rage baiting fans with videos of him golfing instead of making a decision on where he was going to play for what could be his final season. We’ve all gone through a million different reports and rumors on what is going to happen from their “sources.”

Separate thought: Why would LeBron tell a random reporter of his plans if he was trying to keep it a secret? This also assumes that anyone close to him and knows would also be sure to keep it to themself. So I always wonder, what “sources” are people referring to when posting/talking about it?

Anyway, let’s say this happens. The Cavs find a way to get one or both of these players and LeBron then comes to Cleveland? Well, I think many will still love this idea of the storybook ending. However, I feel like the legitimacy of the title will be in question.

LeBron waiting weeks to decide because he wants to make sure the team he’s on isn’t like they were once free agency started but is completely stacked? Thus, I believe it will never be looked at the same as if he took only a couple of days to make his announcement public of returning to Cleveland. EVEN if the Cavs ended up making this/these trade(s) weeks later.

As I say at the end of all of my LeBron articles. Despite me voicing my annoyances with the way he has handled himself this offseason, I still love the man and think he’s the GOAT. I will always be thankful for the 2016 title and all of the years in Cleveland!

Regardless, LeBron, please decide because, like many fans, I can’t take this anymore.
