The College Football season for 2023 is starting to wrap up as playoff seeding and Bowl Games have been announced. It was also announced earlier this week that Ohio State QB Kyle McCord will be entering the Transfer Portal where he will be playing for a new school next season.

McCord’s stats for the 2023 season were 24 TDs, 6 INTs, 2,899 passing yards and a record of 11-1. While these numbers look great, this was not a great year for McCord as he suffered an end-of-season loss to Michigan and also struggled with other teams such as Maryland and Rutgers.

Head coach Ryan Day sat down with McCord not guaranteeing him the starting position next season. Day expressed that he wanted McCord to stay and work hard having a chance to earn the starting position. Instead, McCord will be entering the Transfer Portal looking for a new school to play for.

It is not likely that McCord will play in the Bowl Game against Missouri after making this announcement. It will be interesting to see what McCord’s next school will be.
