OBJ Inactive Week 2 vs Texans: What is Going on with Odell Beckham Jr?

On Wednesday, September 15, 2021, the Browns announced that WR Odell Beckham Jr. will be inactive, yet again, against the Houston Texans. OBJ has been out with an injury since week 7 of the 2020 NFL season. The question that Browns fans are probably asking: What is going on with Odell Beckham Jr?

I am also asking myself that question. Dating back to training camp this past summer, reporters and Browns staff were saying that OBJ looks better than ever and is ready to go. It makes me question if there is still a problem with his knee. OBJ has been recovering from a torn ACL since last season. I really am curious about what is going on with him.

OBJ has been involved in training camp but was resting during the preseason games. I have heard speculations that if OBJ was not ready for Kansas City, they would rest him until mid-season when the Browns play the Steelers. If that were the case, I would be pretty upset. OBJ and Baker need to get their team chemistry together ASAP. It would not be a great move to bring OBJ in midseason, especially if the Browns are winning. OBJ makes us better, but if we continue to win without him, why ruin something that is great?

Overall, the Browns already have a good team around QB Baker Mayfield. As much as I love OBJ, he is starting to become a burden to the team since he is not playing. I want OBJ to play and I want him healthy as soon as possible. I am not sure how long it will take for him to recover. I believe that OBJ is healthy; there might be something else going on.

Either way, the Browns have a game Sunday. As of right now, let’s not ruin something that is already great. OBJ, we hope you are back on the field soon! Browns nation misses you! Let’s Go Browns!!!
