The Guardians keep rolling and rolling. One of the hottest teams in baseball picked up another win. Guardians beat the San Francisco Giants 5-4 on Saturday afternoon. The Guardians have the best home record in baseball at 29-11. However, we should shift our focus to a man who could potentially be the future power-hitter that the Guardians need – Jhonkensy Noel.

Noel was sensational on Saturday against the Giants. He almost hit a grand slam earlier in the game. Noel doesn’t have the most beautiful swing but he has a lot of power and swag. Pitchers don’t want to underestimate this young stud. Although Noel missed a grand slam, he did answer with a home run to left field in the bottom of the 6th inning. He’s quickly making an impact on this team. It’s magnificent to watch. The man is 6’3 and weighs 250 pounds for crying out loud.

The 22-year-old already has three home runs with five RBIs and a 1.029 OPS in 24 at-bats. The hunger is real. He’s taking advantage of every opportunity. We have to pinpoint that he’s a versatile player. During his time in the minors, he has played multiple positions such as first base, left field and right field. Noel can make an impact not just offensively, but defensively as well if he continues to to work hard and stay healthy.

Cleveland has something special going on. Their farm system is one of the best in the majors. Noel could be a very impactful player for the Guardians in the long run and we certainly hope so. There were so many heroes on Saturday and he was one of them.

Jhonkensy Noel signed with the ballclub as an international free agent out of the Dominican Republic in 2017 and received a $100.000 signing bonus.

Carlos Carrasco will take the mound for the Guardians as they try to win the weekend series over the Giants. The game starts at 1:40 pm.
