The road and possible chance of QB Jimmy Garoppolo coming to Cleveland has come to an end. The 49ers quarterback Jimmy G will be staying for at least one more year with San Francisco. Garoppolo decided to restructure his contract with the 49ers instead of being traded away.

The restructured contract that the 49ers and Garoppolo agreed on is for one year worth $6.5 million which will be fully guaranteed. The contract also contains a no-trade clause and a no-tag clause. If the 49ers and Jimmy G feel that it is time to part ways, he can only be traded if he is involved in the trade conversation. Therefore, both Garoppolo and the 49ers would both have to agree and express consent for a trade to happen.

With this move happening, it looks like the Jimmy G rumors to Cleveland will now finally come to an end. The Browns will stick with QB Jacoby Brissett for 11 games until QB Deshaun Watson is ready to return. For the 2022 NFL season, Jimmy Garoppolo will be staying in San Francisco. As for when this season ends, he will have the freedom to sign elsewhere.
