Need To Know: Guardians Win Game One Over Rays, 2-1!

In this series, I will write a “Need To Know” article for every Cleveland Guardians Playoff Game telling you all there is after the game is over! Today, the Guardians beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 2-1, to secure Game One in this Best-of-Three series!
Jose Ramirez Continues his Dominance!
After a regular season with 29 home runs and 126 runs batted in, Jose Ramirez didn’t change one bit today! He had a HUGE two-run blast in the bottom of the 6th to give the Guardians the two runs they ultimately needed! What a crucial smash by this amazing player!
Ace Shane Bieber had a Fantastic Performance
Today’s starting pitcher went 7 2/3 innings pitched giving up only three hits, one earned run on eight strikeouts and one walk! The Rays didn’t have a chance against him!
This Team is Going to Need More Offense
Today, two runs on one single scoring play were enough to win because the pitching was so great. However, in tomorrow’s game and beyond it’s going to take a lot more offense! Who will step up to help the pitching that was able to get it done?
Step on The Base (Seems Obvious)
During the Jose Ramirez home run, there was a dispute on if Amed Rosario actually stepped on second base. While it stood, let’s not take any chances.
Respect to Rays Starter Shane McClanahan
The Rays’ starter went seven innings, had two earned runs, five strikeouts and no walks. Those are pretty great numbers for the losing pitcher. His team simply didn’t step up even though he gave them a great chance to win here against the Guardians.
Will Only Take One More! (For This Series)
With this being a three-game series (all three in Cleveland at Progressive Field), the Guardians only need to win one more game to win the series now!
