In the 3rd inning, with the Guardians already down 2-0 and the Yankees having two runners on base, Kwan made a great catch with two outs on a line drive by the Yankees’ Josh Donaldson. That ball drops, it’s 4-0 Yankees and the game is practically over…

SP Shane Bieber Was SP Shane Bieber.

Bieber went 5.2 innings pitched, had seven strikeouts compared to three walks and held the Yankees to only two runs total.

Only the Single Homer Allowed.

Giancarlo Stanton had a two-run homer to right for the Yankees in the first. For a home run hitting team, it’s good that was their only long ball on the afternoon.

Aaron Judge is Still Sucking.

Judge had five at-bats and FOUR strikeouts. This is the same guy that hit 62 home runs on the season. Great pitching to a guy that can destroy a team with any at-bat.

Cleveland’s Amed Rosario Showed His Judge.

The Guardians’ Rosario blasted a home run to center field in the 5th that tied the game at two! What a crucial blast that ended up allowing the game to even go to extra innings.

No Errors.

The Guardians had stellar defense today and it showed with no errors. This compared to the Yankees who had two.

Closer Emmanuel Clase and Guardians Bullpen As a Whole Were Fantastic.

Stephan came out after Bieber for 1.1 innings, Karnichak after that for 0.2 and then Clase for 2.1 innings to finish off the game. That collective unit gave up no runs at all.

Oscar Gonzalez With Another Big Playoff Hit.

The man who hit the walk-off homer against the Rays in the Wildcard Series came up huge again. With it being a 2-2 game in extra innings, Oscar Gonzalaz blooped a single to shallow right that scored Jose Ramirez from third and made it a 3-2 game at the time with the Guardians on top!

Josh Naylor Providing Some Offense Too

Naylor reached on an infield single in the 4th and would score on an Andres Gimenez single to right making it a 2-1 Yankees lead then. It gave the Guardians some sort of spark. Then, in the 10th inning, he had an RBI double to make it a 4-2 Guardians lead!

We Can Hang With This Guys!

The Guardians were able to win this crucial Game 2. Now, with three games left to play and two of those at Progressive Field, the Guardians have a better chance than ever. Playoff baseball is truly magical!

Let’s go Guards!!!
