“Need To Know” Browns Beat Ravens on Saturday

This specific article about the Browns’ 13-3 WIN over the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday in Cleveland is a part of my “Need to Know” series which goes through everything you need to know for each Browns game!
A Win is a Win
The Browns as a whole didn’t look great on the offensive side of the ball. However, the team was able to do just enough to get a victory over the Ravens!
Quarterback DeShaun Watson Was Just Okay
Watson went 18/28 for 161 yards and a single touchdown. Those numbers typically aren’t going to win games, but it got the job done against the Ravens.
Nick Chubb is Salty About Not Reaching 100
Chubb rushed 21 times for 99 yards (4.7 average). Unfortunately, it was a single yard short of reaching that 100 mark. Ugh, that would drive me crazy looking at the stat sheet in the locker room. But hey, I’d be happy with the win!
Ravens Kicker Justin Tucker Missed Two Field Goals – Crazy
One of the best kickers of all time missed a 48-yard field goal right before halftime. He also had a 50-yard kick blocked in the 4th quarter. Those crucial misses changed the landscape of the game in Cleveland.
Browns Kicker Cade York Wasn’t Great Either
York made two kicks of 47 and 23 yards in the first half. Then, he subsequently went on to miss kicks of 38 and 46 yards in the second half. That’s 2/4 for the afternoon. York has to be more reliable in the future.
The Ravens Were Without Their Starting Quarterback
Yes, Lamar Jackson was out with a PCL sprain in the matchup against the Browns. Thus, it was quarterback Tyler Huntley that started for the Ravens in Cleveland. He went 14/30 for 138 yards and an interception. Very pedestrian numbers. Of course, it gave the Browns a better chance to win and win they did! Have to give credit to the defense, despite the fact it was a backup quarterback.
John Johnson III With a Huge Forced Fumble in the 3rd Quarter
Huntley passed to wide receiver Demarcus Robinson. After gaining 14 yards Robinson was tackled by Johnson forcing a fumble in the process. He was able to recover that ball and get the Browns possession.
Stud DE Myles Garrett Had 1.5 Sacks
Nice Work by the elite end.
The season is Very Much Likely Still Over
Despite the Browns getting the win, their record is now 6-8. That still has them in 3rd place in the AFC North behind the Ravens that they beat (9-5) and the Bengals (9-4).
QB DeShaun Watson’s First Home Win!
The first of hopefully many in Cleveland in the coming years!
Bengals Writing Browns a Thank You
Because of the Browns getting that win against the Ravens, it certainly helps the Bengals in regards to winning the AFC North over Baltimore. Cinci has a tough matchup against Tampa Bay on the road today.
The “Browns Won’t Lose on Sunday” Joke Isn’t As Funny
Usually, if the Browns don’t play on Sunday during the season because of a bye week or whatnot, the “Browns won’t lose on Sunday” may get a snicker. This week, the team got that win on Saturday so it’s not so funny. Great win!
The Cavs Also Won on Saturday and it Was an OT Thriller, too!
