It is time once again for your weekly one-day fantasy update here on Cleveland Sports Talk. The NBA season is now in full force, on and off the court. Now you can’t play one day fantasy for who will post the next cryptic tweet or meme of a certain PBS character, but you certainly can play for who will put up 30 or a triple double tonight.
Today, I did a NBA $1,000 and One on Fantasy Draft and spent the entire $100,000 salary to create my lineup for a great slate of NBA games tonight.
Guard- Bradley Beal, Was, $13,100
Guard- Dennis Schroder, Atl, $12,300
Guard- Avery Bradley, Det, $11,900
Forward/Center- Ben Simmons, Phi, $16,100
Forward/Center- Marc Gasol, Mem, $13,900
Forward/Center- Kevin Love, Cle, $13,300
Utility- Kyle Korver, Cle, $8,500
Utility- De’Aaron Fox, Sac, $10,900
So, as I said, I used the entire salary to set up this lineup and was able to create a very balanced one at that. My highest paid player was Ben Simmons as the rookie is beginning to be one of the more expensive players and for good reason. Currently, Simmons is averaging near a triple-double and is already running away with the Rookie of the Year Award; expect Simmons to continue to put up great numbers.
Bradley Beal was a huge surprise being just $13,100 even though he is averaging nearly 24 points per game this season. Beal is one of the better scorers in the NBA and is capable of putting up 30 on any given night. As long as Beal stays at this low price, he’s a must play.
Kyle Korver was my big sleeper this week even though Cavs and especially Knicks fans should know how great he’s been lately. Korver has been a dominant scorer off the bench for the Cavs this season with 20-plus points in two of his last five games. Expect Korver to continue to get touches and open ones at that if he’s on the court with LeBron James.
That’ll do it for your week five one day NBA fantasy lineup and advice, but be sure to check back each week for more and continue to play one day fantasy on Fantasy Draft.
