Football Season is back! It all begins with the Hall of Fame game. The New York Jets and Cleveland Browns faced off each other in the Hall of Fame game on Thursday night. A game where there’s no Aaron Rodgers and no Deshaun Watson. Both starting quarterbacks were not suited to play in this game. What a bummer! But Cleveland fans should be happy with what they saw last night. The Browns came back from a 16-7 deficit in the third quarter to score two touchdowns and went on to win this game, 21-16.

The key player in this game was the 2023 fifth-round draft pick (140) Dorian Thompson-Robinson. He made one incredible block on an option touchdown run in the third quarter. Thompson-Robinson had a stellar game against the Jets defense. He finished the night going 8-for-11 with 82 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions. If you’re the Browns, you hope you get this kind of production from their prospect. Consistency and durability will be a factor.

Quarterback Kellen Mond had a solid performance as well. He completed 13 of 19 passes for 92 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Yes, he did have an interception but he completed most of his passes. There were more pros than cons. Mond, a 2021 NFL Draft third-round pick out of Texas A&M, got the start in this game, but the shine went mostly to Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

Browns will take on the Washington Commanders next Friday, August 11th.
