Just In: The Browns Claim Quarterback Kellen Mond

Unfortunately, it wasn’t #ChosenRosen time in Cleveland. Yes, I was hoping Josh Rosen would make the team so I could say that lingo throughout the year. While I kid, the Browns needed a quarterback to fill the space for the 11 weeks Deshaun Watson is suspended for to start of the year.

This is why the team claimed quarterback Kellen Mond from Minnesota. He will likely serve as the third-string quarterback behind Jacoby Brissett and Josh Dobbs.

Mond doesn’t have much of a resume to look at. He has a whopping five career NFL Passing Yards after being drafted in the 3rd round (pick 66) by said Vikings in 2021. However, he did have a profound career in college at Texas A&M. Check out his statistics here:

Now, the hope is that we won’t have to see Mond out on the field because our starter in Brissett and subsequent backup in Dobbs will be able to hold the fort this season. This pickup is simply a precautionary measure.
