It’s Time To Make A Statement
Tonight, the (45-19) Miami Heat come to town to face off against our depleted (26-41) Cavaliers. Star forward Lebron James will be on the floor and in uniform tonight for the Heat as usual. However, our main man Kyrie Irving will have a nice relaxing time on the bench with a bicep injury. Can you sense my frustration?
Putting aside Irving’s injury woes, I think it’s about time that the Cavaliers made a statement against this elite Miami Heat team that features our former star. The wine and gold have lost nine straight to King James and company, including the last four here at Quicken Loans Arena. I think it’ll be nice to show Miami that there is something here in frigid Cleveland.
But boy, will it be as tough as ever. The loss of Kyrie Irving takes away his 21.2 points and 6.2 assists per game. Tonight, guys like F Alonzo Gee and G Matthew Dellavedova are going to have to step up their individual play and intensity. Additionally, G Dion Waiters will need to score 27-32 points. Now it’s his show, just like he’s always wanted. Essentially, we cannot have anything average, or it’s going to get really ugly, lightning quick.
Of course the free agent buzz is already as loud as ever, but I personally believe King James already knows what he’s doing this summer. If that’s a one-way ticket to Cleveland, let the good times roll. If not, we still have a basketball team with lots of young talent to crop into a future winning squad.
Tonight’s the night the showcase our young talent against a rather old Miami Heat team. Besides, I want to stick it to Lebron a little. He shouldn’t just be able to walk into town and annihilate the wine and gold like we’re nothing.
Play hard, and let’s grab a BIG W!
