It’s Not a Competition But Peyton Hillis is a HERO

Let me reiterate that it is not a competition.
There’s a young man named Demar Hamlin, a member of the Buffalo Bills that collapsed on the field and his heart stopped beating. CPR had to be administered and he had been hospitalized for days since the incident occurred on Monday the second. What a scary situation, but Hamlin has just been released from the clinic and will pull through.

Shifting gears and a former player is dealing with a horrific incident but is also a hero on many levels. Peyton Hillis, a former Cleveland Browns running back saved his children, a son and daughter, from drowning in a pond. However, he suffered severe injuries of his own…
This via TODAY: A relative of Hillis told the local television news station that Hillis arrived to the hospital unconscious and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. The same relative told KNWA the children were “physically unhurt.”
So great to hear that the children were completely unharmed!
Update: Per his girlfriend, former #Browns RB Peyton Hillis is off a ventilator and is recovering. ππππππ

Let’s talk shop for a moment. Peyton Hillis was an absolutely amazing running back for the Cleveland Browns. It was specifically the 2010 season that everyone remembers. This is when Hillis had 1177 yards and 11 touchdowns for The Dawgs.
Hillis played in the league for the Broncos, said Browns, Chiefs and Giants from 2008-2014 in 81 career games total.
The back is also known for being on the 2012 Madden Cover thanks to the tireless voting from his beloved Browns fans. The fan base really stepped up when it was up for a vote and pushed him ahead and onto the cover.
Unfortunately, Hillis is dealing with terrible issues and is still in the hospital after days and it’s not looking good…
This via NYP – Although Hillis, who was airlifted to a local hospital after reportedly saving his two kids from drowning at the beach, has made minor improvements, doctors are greatly concerned about his kidneys, according to Memphisβ WREG.com. The 36-year-old Hillis also reportedly sustained lung damage in the incident.
We are thankful that the children are unhurt and that is to the heroism of their father, Peyton. We hope that he is able to pull through in the coming days and make a full recovery. Those years when he was on the Browns were magical and the Madden Cover will never be forgotten.
It’s great to see Demar Hamlin out of the hospital and ready to get back to his life! Even so, for all of you fans that said a prayer for him. Let’s take a moment and think about another player in Peyton Hillis. We are hoping for the news that improvements are made in the coming days and he ultimately gets discharged and back to his life with his children!
