The Indians have not shown any interest in breaking up their starting rotation, but if the right offer is made don’t be suprised to see the Indians trade one of their arms. The picther most linked to trade rumors has been Carlos Carrasco who went the distance yesterday, while yielding only one run to Oakland in his 10th victory of the year. The Blue Jays, Dodgers,Cubs, and Red Sox are all reportedly interested, but for the Indians to be tempted into a trade it would require the likes of a Yasiel Puig, Kyle Schwarber type offer. Time will only tell what the Indians decide to do with Carrasco as the deadline is just 4, and a half hours away.

Indians recall Lonnie Chisenhall

LOn

The Indians announced on Thursday that they have recalled utility man Lonnie Chisenhall from AAA Columbus. Chisenhall played 3B for the big league club before being sent down to Columbus where he worked on his hitting and played some first base, and outfield. He will join the club in Oakland.

Indians acquire LHP Rob Kaminsky

The Indians have traded 1B/RF Brandon Moss for St.Louis Cardinals #3 overall pitching prospect Rob Kaminsky. The Southpaw is only 20 years old and was taken in the first round of the 2013 draft. He has posted a 14-10 record with a 2.15 ERA in over 217 minor league innings. Brandon Moss struggled at the plate this year for the Indians after undergoing hip surgery last October. He only managed to posta 2.17 batting average, and his power numbers have declined.  This trade was an absolute steal for the Indians.

Wednesday: The Indians have acquired left-handed starter Jayson Aquino from the Pirates for cash considerations. Aquino has posted a career 2.97 ERA in the minor leagues, but has yet to make it past AA. He was designated for assignment last week. The starter was signed by the Colorado Rockies as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2009 out of the Dominican Republic. He will report to High A Lynchburg.

David Murphy to the Angels

Tuesday: Reports have surfaced that the Angels are nearing a deal for Outfielder David Murphy. I wouldn’t expect the Indians to get anything more than organizational depth for the platoon man.

Update: The Indians have acquired AA shortstop Eric Stamets from the Angels in return for Murphy. He is a career .262 hitter over 356 games in the minors with 12 HR.

The Indians have been linked to Marlins outfielder Marcell Ozuna. The outfielder was sent to AAA after starting off the season with a .249 average, but has been a hitting machine since being optioned. The Marlins have supposedly been in Cleveland scouting pitchers.

The Indians were rumored to be interested in Brewers OF’er Carlos Gomez, but no reports of any close deals have surfaced.
