Indians @ Red Sox – Key Takeaways

How about the Rest of the Rotation?

This was up and down.

We saw pitchers like Adam Cimber and Brad Hand show why they were brought to the club when they threw in three games and gave up only a combined one run, contributing to the first two wins of the series. Shane Bieber came in and gave up three runs. I know I got on Kluber’s case for this, but Bieber is still young and has never played on a primetime stage like Fenway Park before. I can give him a pass on that because, given the circumstances, he did very well and ultimately helped us to a win.

On the back end of the series, it wasn’t as cheery. Adam Plutko and Carlos Carrasco gave up five runs in the last two games that eventually ended in defeat. If Bauer isn’t ready to go come October, a longer series could be unfavorable for Cleveland. Neil Ramirez, Dan Otero and Cody Allen haven’t looked the best either. These guys may be able to get us past the White Sox, but not against Boston, Houston or New York.
