It’s what every fan wants to see in the players they invest in by rooting for them. To watch them play with a certain amount of passion, but not so much where it gets them in trouble, either.
LF Albert Belle played for the Indians for most of his career and during the glory days of the 90s. Look at these numbers:
Everyone knew Belle could blast a ball way out of the park. They also knew he had an extreme temper and played with a chip on his shoulder.
I like it.
Tribe fans also didn’t like Trevor Bauer‘s disposition either. You’ll never win with some people…
When I saw someone make a comparison between Belle and Puig, I thought it was genius. Both play with fire and both are power hitters from the right side.
This is 1997 all over again with the All-Star Game in Cleveland and everything. Let’s just win the World Series this time.
I think passion leads to production. There is something about the guy who is always cool, calm and collected, that doesn’t feel right to me. This is supposed to be the players’ livelihood – show it on the field.
I am looking forward to seeing Puig, along with the other acquisitions try and make a run to not only the playoffs…but maybe even the World Series.
We weren’t saying that in May…
