Former Browns head coach Hue Jackson joined the Baskin & Phelps podcast to discuss starting quarterback, Baker Mayfield. This is from Essentially Sports:

“I have not had a chance to talk to him, I couldn’t tell you [what happened]. I was one of those guys on the table who said that Baker Mayfield is the QB we should draft and I still feel like that today. But I don’t have an answer as to why it got like that at all.”

“I’ve never had that happen to me with a player before, I coached a lot of different personalities and players. I’ve never had a player attack me like that way” – Hue Jackson.

Frankly, it is unbelievable that Jackson is still playing the victim after all of this time. The Browns now have Kevin Stefanski as the head coach after the tenure with Freddie Kitchens didn’t go so well, either. However, it was much better than the time with Jackson.

Hue’s overall record of 3-36-1, which includes a 0-16 season, is absolutely abysmal. There is no way to blame that on one single player, even someone in as important a position as the quarterback. The Browns finished 2018, in total, with a 7-8-1 record. A lot of that was due to Gregg Williams taking over and finishing the year with a 5-3 mark. Then, 2019 had the team sporting a  6-10 record with Freddie Kitchens.

Clearly, the Browns go through a lot of head coaches. While the team hasn’t played a game under Stefanski yet, it appears that man, formerly with the Minnesota Vikings as offensive coordinator, knows what he is doing. This is the kind of coach that is going to take that 7-8-1 record, build on it, and hopefully lead the Browns to the playoffs with Mayfield still as the quarterback.

Hue Jackson needs to get over his time in Cleveland and move on with life. No one is going to look at that time period as a positive for this organization. Trying to justify it will not help one bit. Amazingly, talking isn’t all for Hue. The man is trying to write a book and the title represents the failures in Cleveland.

What? Why would any person want to write about a time period in sports that was so bad? Every Browns fan simply wants to forget about these seasons and move on to the present-day, which looks a lot better.

“Hue! Go away!”

That is what every Browns fan has to be thinking at this point. The team is simply looking towards a better and brighter future and, if there is a season in 2020, the Dawgs will be competitive!
