Hot Shooting, Birthdays and Milestones – All in a Day’s Work in Cleveland

The Cleveland Cavaliers move to 3rd in the Eastern Conference, winning over the Defending Champion Milwaukee Bucks 115-99 at home.

The Cavs are now 30-19 in the win-loss column, winning eight of their last nine games. Moving them ahead of the Bucks and the Brooklyn Nets in the standings.

The Cavs made 19 of 46 shots from deep (45.2%), helping them secure the win.  The Bucks struggled from beyond the arc, shooting 9/32 (28.1%). Because the Bucks tend to jack up three-pointers and give up threes, coach Bickerstaff thought threes would be critical in this game.

Kevin Love led the Cavs with 25 points while pulling down nine rebounds. He shot 9/16 from the field 5/9 from the three-point line. Cedi Osman added 23 points, sinking six three-pointers of his own.

Meanwhile, Darius Garland celebrated his 22nd birthday in style scoring 19 points, shooting 7/12 from the field, 3/6 from three.  Darius also assisted on eight baskets in the Cavs’ win.

Three Cavs share the same January 26th birthday, Darius Garland, Kevin Pangos and Isaac Okoro. Reports say that teammates made rookie Evan Mobley sing “Happy Birthday” to the guys. His 16 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots in the Cavaliers’ win wasn’t a bad birthday gift either.

Rajon Rondo added dished out righy assists in the game, becoming the 14th player in NBA history to reach 7500 career assists.

The Cavs are an impressive and exciting team to watch.  They are only one and a half games behind the Miami Heat, who are sitting in the top spot in the East.

Cleveland’s next game is against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday.
