Guardians Now Utilizing New Outfielder After DOF Ramon Laureano

With the Guards continuing to stay on fire as of lately, they have done some shopping around these past two weeks. Last week, the Guardians designated Ramon Laureano for assignment and called up outfield Johnathan Rodriguez.

Laureano was not having a great year with the Guards as he finished almost two with only one home run and four RBI’s. He was officially released from the team on May 25, 2024, after clearing waivers.

Rodgriguez has only been with the Guardians for a short time so far, but he has looked decent so far. Out of 15 total at-bats, he already has three RBI’s, putting him already on pace to beat Laureano’s stats. Rodgriguez is early into his career, meaning he may have a slow start. Having a slow start is normal when starting out in the Major’s, but right now he seems to be easing into his first few starts.

Cleveland is excited to see what opportunities Rodriguez could bring to the table with this young, fun team. They are continuing to play team ball and finding ways to get it done. It will be exciting to see where Rodriguez will be at with his stats by the end of the season!
