Goodbye, Danny Shelton
Nose tackle Danny Shelton was certainly a spirited player for the Browns. In three seasons with the team, he made 129 tackles. Drafted 12th overall out of Washington, he was known more for his ability to stuff the middle and not necessarily for making the actual play.
Shelton was traded to the Patriots to make room for Larry Ogunjobi, heading into his second year, he has shown promise. New England sent a 2019 3rd round pick back in return. The Browns also sent a 5th-rounder their way.
Knowing the Patriots, Shelton will become an absolute beast and help lead them to another Super Bowl. For the Browns, this was a move the clear the way for a younger player that may actually be better.
All the best to Danny.
